Beyond Two Souls

Oh, my! I'm going to review a Playstation exclusive?! What happened?
Well, I got a great deal on a PS4, and I got 5 games with it; Bloodborne, Uncharted 4, No Man's Sky, Heavy Rain, and finally, the one I'll write about today:

I was very skeptical to this game at first, since I heard there was a lot of action button press, and I wasn't a huge fan of Ellen Page after some of her drama (like around the character Ellie from The Last of Us). But I gotta say, this game surprised me! I was expecting a slow button press game, with a poor story and bad acting. I didn't hear much about this game after it was released, so I guess I took it as a sign that it wasn't really that good after all. My mistake!

Though some say the game is really confusing in the original order (I noticed the Remaster had a remixed/chronological order to play it in) I don't really understand why. The loading between each chapter clearly shows you where you jump in on the timeline. This was an interesting choice of telling the story though.

So, what's this game about?
You're introduced to a mysterious girl, who seems to posses some kind of powers. You then get to know that there are invisible things called "entities", that are things from another "world" (kinda like we think ghosts are). This girl is then revealed to have one of these entities, called Aiden, under her control, which is her "power". To not spoil too much of the game, I'll leave it to that.

People who knows me know that I really like supernatural stuff. So this game really was something I enjoyed. There was so much mystery in the beginning, but the pieces fell into place chapter by chapter. At the end I was met by a somewhat difficult choice, and I actually shed a few tears at the end, even though I think I got a "happy" ending. I rarely cry, so this game earned a spot in memorable video games I'll keep close to my heart. It impressed me on so many levels!

So let's check out what I think about certain things...

- The story was really good! The concept was really cool, and they added so much emotion to it. It is a drama type of game, so I guess I should have expected as much :p I'm trying not to spoil too much, you should really experience it yourself!

- The graphics was nice! THOUGH I played the remastered version on the PS4. But overall it looked good and played well. I could clearly recognize the actors playing some of the characters!

- The gameplay was kinda dull. It wasn't quite as I expected, but not too far away either. There are a lot of button pressing, but there was also parts that felt like a partly stealth, partly 3rd person shooter. So there was more than just pressing a few buttons, but there were also a lot of that.

There are so much more I want to tell about this game, but I'm afraid I'll spoil something! All I'm gonna say is; Play it and you'll see how good it is for yourself! I personally loved it, but not everyone might. But at least give it a shoot, it's often on sale digitally :p

Already played it? What's your thoughts of the game? Comment what you think!

Until next time~!
