You probably know by now that I'm not a huuuge fan of Sony or the Playstation 3. I've been disappointed over and over again, both on support and performance. I had to wait a month for answers from support, and it didn't help me, so yeah... x)
Anyways, I'm not really here to complain today. Quite the opposite actually.
I think the Playstation Vita is pretty much underrated! It has so much potential laid to waste. I don't have many games on my Vita yet, but I'm pretty impressed. I've only played one game that struggles running as it should, and I think that's a porting problem (Jak and Daxter Trilogy, one of the reasons why I contacted support).
I've played some of the Final Fantasy X/X-2 remix, and I love it! The graphics are really good for being on an handheld. They also make use of the touchscreen in a nice way, but still keeps the old nostalgia feel like it should :) A must play if you enjoyed the original games, and with the Vita you could take your journey through Spira wherever you go and whenever you want :)
I've also played some Terraria on the Vita, and it's genius! They make good use of the touchscreen in this game as well, which makes the game much more fun to play. It's also not far behind on the updates, so it's not that huge of a difference from playing on PC. I'm actually considering playing Terraria on my Vita instead of pc. Yeah, it's that much fun!
We have some more good games, like Gravity Rush, The Walking Dead, Silent Hill: Book of Memories, Touch My Katamari, and Metal Gear Solid HD Collection. but In my opinion there is not much games on the Vita. I think there should be more! Of course you could always play PS1 and PSP games on it, but I'm guessing a lot of people are like me and enjoy having achievements to give you some extra challenge.
The console is good, but Sony keeps denying it because it sold bad when it was released. Of course it did, it was really expensive when it came out! And the game-library was VERY limited. That's why it didn't sell. On top of this the memory cards for this console is waaay too expensive as well. The 32GB card costs about the same as a 64GB SanDisk Mobile Extreme (which you use for Galaxy tablets and phones etc). That's just too much. So Sony, please, lower the prices on your Vita memory cards! I'd love to buy more digital games, but my space is limited, along with my wallet.
I'm hoping that they won't forget the PS Vita, and rather make some more games for it. I can't wait for Minecraft on the Vita! I loved it on the Xbox 360 and Galaxy Tab, so when I think about what they could do with both mechanics on one console, I get really excited about it.
Other than the Vita version of Minecraft, I'm hoping there will be any future Kingdom Hearts games for the console, as well as some more Silent Hill games. I heard there will be an PSN release for the two PSP Silent Hill games sometime this year, and I'm really excited.
I love these two franchises, so having games for the Vita would be really nice. :)
Only thing left to do now is crossing my fingers and hope for more good games. There might be more games for the Vita that I left out, but I don't like ALL type of games. This is mostly my view of the Vita and the games I really like.
Well, that's it I guess :)
Until next time~!
